Hi, I'm Miranda! Let's get one thing out of the way first- I already know what MOCO means in Spanish- I have embraced it and at this point it is apart of the lore. Now moving on.
I've loved making things for as long as I can remember- from doodling and photography to directing Oscar-worthy (taking to my grave) youtube videos with my childhood friends.
Between adulthood, college and everything that came with 2020, I slowly stopped creating and realized I'd lost a part of myself along the way.
S/p quarter life crisis (est. 2021), I picked up a brush to create a portrait of my aunt Ginny after she passed. I don't know exactly how to explain it- whether you believe in signs or a higher power- I truly believe she helped me find that missing part of myself. Some paintings change your walls - that one changed my life.
Not long after, my roommate gave me her old sketchbook. It became my outlet between endless hours of studying. Since then, I've fallen in love with painting more and more everyday.
Every painting here is a little piece of that journey and I'm so excited to share it with you.
